Who this is for

You have been meaning to put your wishes on paper and you already know what you want the will to say. Maybe a health scare, a new grandchild, or a friend's experience made it feel less like something for later.

You want the document prepared carefully and typed up correctly, at a clear price, without an office visit. Deanna prepares it the way you direct, and the appointment comes to you.

What will preparation covers

Deanna prepares your will from the information and instructions you give her. She checks names, spellings and every page before anything is printed. You review the draft and tell her if anything does not match your instructions.

When the document is ready, we arrange the signing with you. Tell us how your document is meant to be signed and witnessed so we can plan the appointment around it.

  • Preparation of your will at your direction
  • A careful check of names, spellings and pages
  • A draft for you to review before signing
  • A signing appointment arranged at your home or another location you choose

What to have ready

  • Your decisions about what the will should say. Deanna prepares what you direct and cannot make these choices for you.
  • Full legal names of everyone you want named, spelled exactly.
  • A current government issued photo ID, such as a driver license, state ID card or passport.
  • Your name on the document should match the name on your ID.
  • Do not sign the will before the signing appointment.
  • If your document calls for witnesses, plan for who they will be and make sure they can attend.
  • You must be alert, understand what you are signing, and want to sign it.

Questions

Will preparation with Doc Prep & Notary Services starts at $300. We confirm your price before any work starts.

No. Deanna is a Legal Document Assistant, not an attorney. She cannot give legal advice, suggest who should inherit what, or tell you which documents you need. She prepares the will according to the decisions you make.

That is a legal question, and we cannot answer it for you. An attorney can help you decide. Once you have decided, Deanna can prepare either document at your direction, and both are priced on our site.

Signing and witnessing requirements are part of the legal effect of a document, which we cannot advise on. Tell us how your document is meant to be signed, and we will plan the appointment around it. If you are unsure, ask an attorney.

Yes. We can plan the signing at a hospital or care facility. The signer must be alert, understand the document, and be willing to sign it.
