Who this is for

Often it is a couple in their fifties, sixties or older who have already decided they want a living trust and have a good idea of what it should say. What they want now is someone careful to prepare the paperwork, at a price they know before they start.

It can also be a single person, or an adult child helping a parent get organized. You make the decisions about your trust. Deanna prepares the documents the way you direct, and Marcie notarizes them.

What the fixed price includes

$500 for an individual. $750 for a couple. The price is the same anywhere in San Diego County.

Deanna prepares your trust documents at your direction, using the information and choices you give her. She checks every page before it reaches the signing table. Then Marcie comes to you to notarize the signatures.

  • Preparation of the trust documents you direct, based on the information you provide
  • Printing of the finished documents
  • Travel to your home or another location in San Diego County
  • Notarization of the signatures at the signing appointment

What to have ready

  • Your decisions about the trust, written down if that helps you. Deanna prepares what you direct and cannot make these choices for you.
  • Full legal names for everyone who will be named in the documents, spelled exactly.
  • The information about property and accounts that you want included, as you want it described.
  • A current government issued photo ID for each signer, such as a driver license, state ID card or passport.
  • Names on the documents should match the names on each signer's ID.
  • Do not sign anything before the notary arrives. Every signer signs in front of Marcie.
  • Every signer must be alert, understand what they are signing, and be willing to sign.

Questions

Doc Prep & Notary Services charges a fixed $500 for an individual trust package and $750 for a couple, anywhere in San Diego County. Printing, travel and notarization are included. The documents are prepared at your direction by a registered and bonded Legal Document Assistant, not by an attorney.

No. A Legal Document Assistant is not an attorney and cannot give legal advice or choose documents for you. If you are unsure which documents fit your situation, please speak with an attorney first. Deanna can then prepare what you decide on.

No. Trust packages are the same fixed price anywhere in our San Diego County service area. Travel for the signing is included.

Marcie Ramirez, a California Notary Public first commissioned in 2003 and a Certified Trust Delivery Agent. She comes to your home or another location you choose.

In California, the title paralegal is reserved for people who work under an attorney's supervision. When someone is handling their own paperwork without an attorney and wants the documents they choose prepared for them, that work is done by a registered Legal Document Assistant. That is Deanna's role. Whether to involve an attorney is your decision.

Tell Deanna before the signing appointment. If something does not match what you directed, she will correct it. Changes that go beyond your original instructions are something to discuss with her before any work starts.
