About Deanna Wilson and Marcie Ramirez

Doc Prep & Notary Services is a document preparation and notary business in San Diego County, based in Mission Valley. Deanna Wilson, a registered and bonded Legal Document Assistant, prepares trusts, wills, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, name and gender change paperwork, and divorce and dissolution paperwork at each client's direction, and offers divorce and family mediation as a Certified Divorce Mediator. Marcie Ramirez, a California Notary Public first commissioned in 2003, runs the notary side of the business: mobile notary visits, loan signings, and signings at hospitals and care facilities, wherever the signer is.

Between them, a client can go from blank forms to signed and notarized documents with one team. Anyone who already has a document in hand can book Marcie on her own. Most prices are published before anyone picks up the phone; a few, like judgment packets and loan signings, are priced by phone.

Two roles, one team

Deanna's document preparation is one half of the business. You tell her what you want prepared and give her the information it needs. She prepares the documents at your direction and checks every page before it goes to the signing table. Deanna has spent 40 years working in legal settings and has run her own document preparation business for over 15 years, mostly in Orange County. She is registered as a Legal Document Assistant in both San Diego and Orange Counties. She is also a Certified Divorce Mediator and offers mediation for couples and parents who want to reach their own agreement.

Notary work is Marcie's own service, not just the last step of Deanna's. She travels to homes, offices, hospitals and care facilities for anyone who needs a signature notarized, whether or not Deanna prepared the document. She also handles loan signings for signing services, lenders, title and escrow companies, and real estate agents and brokers. At every appointment she confirms each signer's identity, watches them sign and records every notarization in her journal. She is also a Certified Trust Delivery Agent.

The two roles stay separate, and neither is more important than the other. Deanna prepares documents and mediates; Marcie notarizes. Neither of them gives legal advice.

How the partnership started

Marcie was first commissioned as a California Notary Public in 2003. She specializes in estate planning and real estate documents. Her own family went through Alzheimer's and the power of attorney decisions that came with it, and that experience shaped her focus on hospital and care facility signings, where families are often under the most strain.

Deanna and Marcie were friends for years before they became business partners. Together they offer document preparation and notarization under one name, so a client does not have to find two separate people to finish the job.

How we work

  • Every page is checked before it reaches the signing table.
  • Every notarization is completed securely and in accordance with applicable requirements.
  • Signings happen at a calm pace. No one is rushed through a document.
  • Prices are published on this site before you call, and your price is confirmed when we call you back.
  • Documents are prepared only at your direction, from the information and choices you give us.

Who we welcome

Everyone who needs documents prepared or signed is welcome here, and we say so plainly. That includes LGBTQ+ clients, including people changing a name or gender marker; immigrant families and communities; seniors and the adult children helping them; and families going through divorce or dealing with a loved one in custody.

Marcie is a member of the San Diego Equality Business Association. Deanna is a member of Lions, Marcie is the secretary of the Hillcrest All-Inclusive Kiwanis Club.
