About Doc Prep & Notary Services
We created Doc Prep & Notary Services to give San Diego County clients a more connected way to move through important paperwork. Dede prepares documents at the client’s direction, Marcie brings mobile notary service to the signing, and we work together to make the process easier to understand and less stressful to complete.
Why We Built This Business
Our partnership began with a practical question. Marcie had worked as a notary since 2003 and wanted to build stronger relationships with other professionals in the field. When she needed document-preparation help, she reached out to Dede because she would rather send business to someone she trusted than to a stranger.
That conversation quickly grew into a larger idea. Dede brought decades of experience with legal documents, filing procedures, and clients who needed help understanding complicated paperwork. Marcie brought years of mobile-notary experience, community relationships, and a calm approach to signings that often happen during difficult moments.
We saw how naturally those roles fit together. Clients could work with a document preparer who cared about accuracy and then meet with a mobile notary who respected their time, circumstances, and comfort during the signing. That became the foundation of Doc Prep & Notary Services.
Two Professional Roles Working Together
Document preparation and notarization are separate professional services. Keeping those responsibilities clear allows each of us to focus on the work we know best while coordinating the overall client experience.
Marcie travels to the client after documents are ready for signing. She verifies identity and personal appearance, confirms that the signer is willing and aware, completes the required notarial certificate, and slows the appointment down when a client needs more time or reassurance.
Meet Deanna “Dede” Wilson
Dede loves preparing legal documents and helping people make sense of processes that can feel overwhelming without a legal background. She brings 40 years of experience from legal environments and uses that experience to prepare accurate documents while keeping clients informed about the practical steps involved.
Some of Dede’s strongest work begins when a client arrives with paperwork that was returned by a court and does not know what needs to be corrected. She reviews the information carefully, asks questions to understand the concern, and works to create a complete and accurate document at the client’s direction.

Meet Marcie Ramirez
Marcie began working as a notary in 2003 when her son was a baby. The work allowed her to remain home with him most days while still earning an income. Over time, notary work became a long-term profession built around careful service, community relationships, and helping people complete important signings.
Many of Marcie’s clients are new to the notary process, and some are already dealing with a medical issue, family concern, or urgent deadline. She explains how the appointment will proceed, respects the signer’s circumstances, and works efficiently without making the client feel rushed.

Marcie’s family experience with Alzheimer’s, along with a medical emergency in which her own power of attorney became important, shaped how she views estate-planning documents. She wants clients to leave a signing feeling that their time was respected and their documents were handled professionally.

Names, spelling, punctuation, document details, and notarial certificates are reviewed carefully before the work is treated as complete.
Clients should be treated professionally and courteously from the first conversation through document completion and signing.
We stay within the proper scope of document preparation and notarial work, even when someone pressures us to do otherwise.
We will not participate when a person is being pressured or coerced into a trust, will, beneficiary choice, signature, or other decision.
A notarial act requires personal appearance and acceptable identification, along with a signer who is aware and willing to sign.
Client information and notary records are handled with care, using procedures intended to reduce unnecessary exposure or loss.

Divorce, illness, family changes, court filings, and estate-planning decisions can carry a great deal of stress. We listen, explain the process we are responsible for, and give clients room to move through each step at a reasonable pace.
What We Can and Cannot Do
Doc Prep & Notary Services is not a law firm. Dede works as a Legal Document Assistant and prepares legal documents at the client’s direction. Marcie performs notarial acts and does not select documents, provide legal opinions, or explain the legal consequences of a document.
We can provide information about the document-preparation, filing, recording, scheduling, identification, and notarization processes that fall within our professional roles. When a client needs advice about legal rights, legal strategy, document selection, or the effect of a decision, that question belongs with an attorney.
We may help connect a client with an attorney when legal advice is needed, but the attorney’s work remains separate from our document-preparation and notary services.
